Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has just announced the conclusion of the dialogue between the school, the Faculty of Vietnam - Germany, the family and students of Vietnam - Germany Medicine, 2023 and 2024 on October 22.
In particular, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine affirmed that all Vietnamese - German medical students of the 2023 and 2024 classes will be supported to complete the medical doctor training program.
According to the school, the reason for stopping the cooperation program is that the German National Institute of Medical and Pharmaceutical Research (IMPP), an independent agency providing exam questions for the transition exams to phase M1 and phase M2, has changed its policy on stopping the provision of exam questions from the scope of the German National University of Law from December 31, 2027.
The above change in IMPP's policy has disrupted the organization of M1 and M2 exams for students of the Vietnam - Germany Faculty of Medicine, leading to the Mainz Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University being forced to stop the cooperation program with Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine from 2025. However, students in the 2023 and 2024 courses are still arranged by the school to continue studying, not forced to stop or cancel their registered training programs.
The dialogue also agreed on the following solutions:
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine commits not to change the training program or training time of Vietnamese - German medical students in the 2023 and 2024 classes.
"These students continue to study the Vietnam-Germany medical program according to the same course as they were admitted to the Faculty of Vietnam - Germany Medicine. The school will accompany students until they finish the M2 and M3 exams, within the legal framework allowed," the conclusion stated.
In addition, the school will notify parents and students of relevant courses in writing early and transparently when there is new information on the results of the solutions. Any arising costs (if any) during the implementation of the solutions will be calculated and publicly announced.
