On the morning of June 11, along with the whole country, 37,508 candidates in Gia Lai province entered the first exam of the 2026 high school graduation exam - Literature, which is also the only essay subject of the exam.
From early morning, the atmosphere at the exam sites was serious and orderly. Police and youth volunteers were present to support and guide candidates and parents.
Recorded at the Quy Nhon National High School exam site, there were 861 candidates taking the exam in 37 exam rooms. In the early sun of the day, many parents quietly accompanied their children to the exam site, sending words of encouragement before the exam time.
Stumbling outside the school gate waiting for her child, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tra My (born 1982, residing in Quy Nhon ward) said that her family always encourages and does not create pressure about scores so that her child has a comfortable mentality before the exam.

In the stream of people taking their children to the exam, the story of Mr. Le Van Nha (born in 1980, residing in Van Canh commune, Cham H'roi ethnic group) moved many people.
His daughter is Le Thi Minh Thu, a student of Ethnic Minority Boarding High School No. 1 in Gia Lai province. Because the school is nearly 50km from home, Minh Thu had to live away from her family since 9th grade after being admitted to the school.
To be able to accompany his child in the important exam, Mr. Nha temporarily put aside his work and drove dozens of kilometers from Van Canh mountainous area to Quy Nhon. He plans to stay in the dormitory for parents to conveniently pick up and drop off and take care of his child throughout the exam days.
I told my son to take care of his health, don't be too stressed. How many points he got on the exam is not important to him, just need him to do his best, that's good," Mr. Nha said.
The 2026 high school graduation exam in Gia Lai is organized at 91 exam sites with 1,652 exam rooms. According to statistics from the Gia Lai Department of Education and Training, in the exam procedure session on the afternoon of June 10, there were 423 absent candidates, including 3 cases being treated at the hospital.
