On the afternoon of April 26, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien - Chairman of Cam Trung Commune People's Committee - said that after the incident of P.B.D (5 years old) dying at Cam Trung Kindergarten on the morning of April 25, Cam Trung Commune authorities came to encourage, visit, express condolences and support the family with 10 million VND to arrange the funeral and burial.
According to Mr. Tien, the authorities determined that D died from drowning while falling into a water tank pumped from the school's well, only about 3m from the child's classroom.
"The water tank should have been covered and the door locked, but that day the security guard forgot to lock the door," said Mr. Tien.
As Lao Dong reported, on the morning of April 25, baby D was taken to school. After morning exercise, the whole class goes to school. At this time, the head of the tourist attraction saw D missing, so she mobilized everyone to search for him.
The incident was also reported to Cam Trung Commune Police and the school's camera was extracted but the child was not seen outside the gate.
Continuing to search the school grounds, they discovered D in the water tank behind a two-story house, a few meters from class. When taken up, the child had died.
After receiving the report, Ha Tinh Provincial Police and forensic forces came to examine the scene, conduct an autopsy and initially determined that baby D had died from drowning.
It is known that D's parents are working abroad, so they were sent to their grandparents to take care of him.
