In 2026, the school will continue to enroll 28 undergraduate training majors. At the same time, it is expected to recruit 2 new training majors, namely Human Resources Administration and Multimedia Communications. The total expected enrollment target is 2,800.
According to new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on university admissions in 2026, the school's admission work has 3 basic new points.
First, only select combinations D01, D14, D15, DD2, D04, D06 and C00. Of which, the D01 combination is present in all majors, 15 majors do not have the C00 combination, 15 majors have the C00 combination. This is a completely different point compared to 2025, when 26 majors have a C00 combination and only two majors in Japan Studies and Southeast Asia study without a C00 combination.
Second, there are no combinations C03 (Math, Literature, History), C04 (Math, Literature, Geography), X78 (Literature, English, Economic and Legal Education). This is a new point compared to the combinations of the 2025 entrance exam. Reducing combinations in one major and training program must ensure no more than 4 admission combinations, thereby focusing on subjects that are suitable for the characteristics and requirements of the majors and training programs.
Third, English or Literature subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2 to comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training, which is a general subject that must account for at least 50% of the total score.
Reasons for tightening enrollment in the C00 complex
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hong Son - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Hanoi National University) - said that the policy of using combinations with Foreign Language subjects and eliminating the admission of C00 for some majors has been in place before, expected to be applied in the 2025 admission season. However, due to the urgent time, the school has not yet implemented it. This year, the school has calculated and carefully considered the benefits of learners, thereby making a list of admission combinations in early December.
The school's Vice Principal analyzed - in addition to traditional and basic science majors, the school strongly develops the fields of social sciences and humanities in a modern direction. These majors have developed very quickly, requiring updating new theories and teaching methods. Accordingly, practical training is due to the textbook not being updated in Vietnamese, making it difficult to access, especially for those with poor foreign language skills. This raises a high requirement for English language.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hong Son also added that the school's policy is consistent with Resolution 71 on breakthroughs in education and training development, including the goal of making English the second language in schools. To achieve this goal in the next few years, there must be difficult initial changes as the school is implementing.
"We expected that the removal of the C00 group at some angle would affect the school's enrollment. However, the school accepts that to select candidates suitable for practical training, thereby improving quality" - Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hong Son emphasized.
