In Nghi Son ward, from September 15th, Nghi Son Elementary School has reported to the local authorities and let all students take leave from school due to heavy rain and flooding in the school area.
In Yen Khuong commune, Yen Khuong Kindergarten and Yen Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School also gave all students a day off to ensure safety.
Notably, in Yen Thang commune, from the afternoon of September 16, Yen Thang Kindergarten gave students a day off due to cracks appearing in the school area, with a high risk of landslides. Local functional forces have supported the relocation of school facilities to a safe place.
At the same time, students of Yen Thang Primary School and Yen Thang Secondary School were also off school.
For students whose parents do not come to pick them up after morning classes, schools arrange for homeroom teachers to stay to take care of them, and at the same time prepare instant noodles or meals for them.
Localities and educational institutions are continuing to monitor the situation of rain and floods, traffic, flood and landslide risks to proactively adjust teaching and learning.
Previously, on September 15, the Thanh Hoa Education sector issued Document No. 5118, requesting continuing education institutions to update warnings about heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, flooding, flash floods and landslides.
Schools are required to review and reinforce facilities, green trees, corrugated iron roofs, electrical systems, glass doors and items at risk of unsafety; move teaching equipment, books, records, and documents to a high and safe location.
Thanh Hoa Education sector also requested schools to guide students not to cross rivers, streams, spillways, deep flooded areas or places at risk of landslides during heavy rain.
Based on the actual situation, educational institutions are proactively coordinated with local authorities to let students take leave from school when the weather is dangerous, there are cuts, floods, flash floods or landslides.
When the weather stabilizes, schools organize make-up classes, online classes or guide students to self-study appropriately to ensure the progress of the program.
