The story happened at a boarding school for primary and secondary schools in Nam Tra My (Quang Nam). In recent weeks, many children in communes such as Tra Don, Tra Vinh, Tra Tap... have had high fever with similar symptoms of the disease such as appearing red spots on the skin. Because the village is located on the mountainside and has difficult roads, most cases are not taken to medical facilities by their families for examination and treatment, but are left at home, leading to serious illness. Up to now, there have been 4 deaths, most recently a second-grade student in Tra Don.
At around 1:00 a.m. on March 7, Mr. Le Huy Phuong - Principal of Tra Don Primary Boarding School (Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province) received information that 4 children in the area had a high fever, had serious changes, were at the commune health station, and needed to be transferred to the hospital for emergency care. Among the 4 children affected by the fever were 1 9-month-old child, 1 2-year-old child, 1 7-year-old child and a third-grade student at Noc Ong Binh school. Immediately, Mr. Le Huy Phuong took a personal car to carry the 4 students and their family to Tam Ky City. After 3 hours of travel, Mr. Phuong took the children safely to Quang Nam Children's Hospital for emergency care and treatment. Currently, their health has made good progress.
Teachers are not only those who impart knowledge but in many cases have not been afraid to work hard to save their students. Not long ago, in Binh Thuan, a student at Nguyen Van Troi High School (Thanh Linh District) was unfortunately involved in a traffic accident. Discovering that the school's student was in trouble, Mr. Vo Van Cu quickly took Hai to Nam Binh Thuan General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Here, Hai was diagnosed with liver and spleen stores, and abdominal blood. After consultation, the doctors determined that surgery was necessary immediately, but the hospital did not have enough blood; and if transferred immediately to a higher-level hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, it would be dangerous for Hai's life because there was a lot of blood flowing in the abdomen. At that time, Hai's parents were far away and could not get to the hospital in time. Mr. Cu decided to ask the hospital to allow him to have surgery on the spot and pledged to collect enough blood as required by the hospital. Immediately afterwards, Mr. Cu informed the school, mobilizing teachers and students in the school to quickly go to the hospital to donate blood, thanks to which the emergency surgery to stop the bleeding for Hai was successful. Mr. Cu and teachers of Nguyen Van Troi High School also mobilized many individuals and units to donate to support Hai's treatment costs with a total amount of 84 million VND. Hai was saved by the love of Mr. Cu and teachers and students of Nguyen Van Troi High School.
These are two inspiring stories that have great influence, helping to enhance the position of teachers. This reminds many people of the letter of encouragement from Minister Nguyen Kim Son to teachers when he took on the task of being the "Commander" of the education sector: "More than anyone else, we hope that our position as teachers needs to be consolidated, the dignity of the profession needs to be preserved. This requires many sides and involves many factors, but first of all and most importantly, it is up to us teachers. Only with effort, exemplaryness, intelligence and a love of the profession, love of students, love of knowledge and reason, with self-respect and self-respect, can we gradually make our teaching profession more dignified.
Mr. Cu and Mr. Phuong are examples of the position and dignity of the profession.
