On June 4, according to PV's investigation, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to enroll students into 11 inter-level boarding schools in border communes in the 2026-2027 school year, with a total scale of more than 11,000 students.
According to the plan, 11 inter-level boarding schools will be built in border communes including Dam Thuy, Dinh Phong, Duc Long, Ha Lang, Lung Nam, Phuc Hoa, Quang Han, Quang Trung, Tong Cot, Tra Linh and Truong Ha.
Schools organize training from grades 1 to 9 according to the boarding and semi-boarding models.
The enrollment subjects are students permanently residing in communes with schools, students in adjacent border communes and children of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and armed forces working in border areas.
For boarding students: First, students who are permanently residing in communes with schools, then to neighboring communes.
The secondary criterion is the distance from home to school (prioritizing students who travel through difficult terrain such as streams, passes, landslides, or have a long distance: primary school from 4km, secondary school from 7km).
Considering boarding students: For boarding students but out of quota, group 1, group 2 students who are not boarding students, and group 3 students. Admission criteria are based on the distance from home to school.
Regarding application documents, candidates need to have: Application form, transcript or replacement dossier, priority confirmation paper (if any). In particular, for boarding students, it is necessary to supplement legal basis to confirm residence information (permanent residence from 36 consecutive months or more).
Enrollment is carried out in the form of admission. Boarding students are prioritized according to their place of residence, distance from home to school and actual travel conditions.
Students who have not been admitted to the boarding system due to running out of quotas will be considered for admission to the semi-boarding system.
According to the assigned target, the maximum class size is 35 students/class for primary school and 40 students/class for secondary school.
In which, Dam Thuy PTNT TH&THCS School has the largest scale with 1,173 students, including 890 boarding students; Duc Long PTNT TH&THCS School recruits 1,010 students.
According to Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, the enrollment and announcement of results must be completed before July 31, 2026. Schools are allowed to conduct additional enrollment if they have not recruited enough targets.
The operation of the inter-level boarding school system is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education, creating stable learning conditions for students in border areas, especially ethnic minority students.
