At the beginning of May, in Muong Khuong commune, hundreds of workers and many machines and equipment are simultaneously constructing on the large construction site of the Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School project.
The atmosphere of urgent labor covers the entire construction site to speed up the progress of items before the rainy season and in time to serve the new school year.
Through research, the project was started in November 2025, with a total investment of more than 215 billion VND.
The project will build many synchronous items such as classroom blocks, dormitories, administration areas, multi-purpose buildings, along with technical infrastructure, fire prevention and fighting systems...
Information from the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, currently the ground leveling work has reached about 80% of the embankment volume, basically reaching the baseline of all building blocks. The rock breaking item for the dormitory area has also been completed, creating ground for continuing to deploy synchronous construction.
At the construction site, there are currently about 350 - 400 workers and many construction teams working continuously in shifts. Many heavy machinery and equipment are mobilized to the maximum to ensure the overall progress of the project.
At the administration building block, the construction unit has completed concrete pouring of the technical floor of the roof, and is deploying construction, plastering and installation of electrical and plumbing systems to complete the 1st and 2nd floors.
In the classroom area, the Primary School block has completed pouring technical roof concrete, teams are focusing on building plastering and completing electricity and water.
The subject classroom block is processing and installing reinforced planks for the technical roof, and at the same time completing the lower floors. Meanwhile, the secondary school block is deploying molds and reinforced planks for the 3rd floor.
Dormitory areas are also gradually taking shape clearly. Some blocks have entered the stage of building walls, completing electricity and water and roofing; many other items are under construction on the 3rd floor to ensure overall progress...
In parallel with that, fire prevention and fighting systems, termite protection, light electricity and drainage ditches are also being deployed simultaneously.
Witnessing the project taking shape day by day, local people expressed their excitement because this is a project expected to change the learning conditions for students in border areas.
Mr. Sung A Senh, a resident of Muong Khuong commune, shared that in the past, many students from afar had to travel hard or stay temporarily to study. Building a spacious boarding school will help parents feel more secure, and students have stable and safe learning conditions.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Phan Van Vinh - official of the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the investor is closely coordinating with contractors to accelerate construction during the favorable weather period.
Teams are arranged to work continuously in each direction, prioritizing completing the main items before the rainy season.
Many building blocks have entered the plastering and electrical and plumbing completion stages. We regularly inspect the site, urge and supervise the quality to ensure technical and safety of the project.
The project is striving to be completed and handed over by the end of August to be ready for the new school year," Mr. Vinh informed.
When completed, the school is expected to create better learning conditions for highland students, especially children of ethnic minorities in the Muong Khuong border area, contributing to improving the quality of education in the locality.
