With the admission form, Ho Chi Minh City applies it to Thanh An Secondary and High School (Thanh An commune), Vo Thi Sau High School (Con Dao special zone) and Ethnic Minority Boarding School for students studying at these units themselves or according to separate regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh - Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) said that the city is currently promoting the construction of about 1,000 new classrooms to put into use in the 2026-2027 school year.
In addition, the Department reviewed more than 100 other projects to have more learning places for children in the area, reaching the target of 300 classrooms per 10,000 people of school age.
Currently, the Department is developing a strategy, from next year it will expand admission to 10th grade in some areas with sufficient facilities and educational resources," Mr. Minh informed.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in the 2026-2027 school year has more than 151,000 registered candidates, while the total target for public high schools is more than 180,000 students. This means that more than 30,000 students will not be admitted to the 10th grade public school and will have to choose other directions such as studying in private schools, continuing education centers, vocational training or studying abroad...
The exam will take place in two days, June 1st and 2nd, with three compulsory subjects including Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language; candidates registering for specialized or integrated classes will take additional subjects accordingly.
