Family events
Returning to Luong Nghia commune (old Hau Giang province), now Luong Tam commune, Can Tho city, we (PV) had the opportunity to talk with the family of Truong Huynh Nhu (class 12TN2, Luong Tam High School) about the journey to find a child.
Huynh Nhu is the youngest child in a family of three sisters. The main source of income to cover living expenses and tuition for the family is from 2 hectares of rice fields, collecting scrap, who would hire someone to do anything and raising pigs.
About 6 years ago, the incident happened when Nhu's father had an accident, limiting his ability to work. From there, the burden of making a living was on the mother's shoulders.

Sharing with PV, Ms. To Kim Phuc (42 years old, Huynh Nhu's mother) was moved: "There were times when I felt sorry for myself and secretly cried alone because I couldn't take care of my children enough like friends. Seeing my children studying enthusiastically, I try to take care of them, one day I cut grass for hire, the next day I collect scrap metal, take care of them as much as I can."
With an average income of about 5 million VND/month, this small amount of money is not enough for Nhu's family to take care of their lives. To save money, daily meals are just fish and vegetables eaten in the garden. In the coming time, when Huynh Nhu entered university, the burden of expenses caused Ms. Phuc to have many concerns.
Witnessing the hardship of his parents, there was a time when Huynh Nhu intended to end her schooling to work, supporting her parents: "I also had a few questions about quitting school to work as a family allowance, but then told myself that only by studying can I change my life".
Will to rise
In a shallow house, temporarily built from the support funds of the people, with many shortages of income, this female student is still determined to stay in class, stay in school to find opportunities to "change her life" thanks to her children.
In addition to her excellent academic achievements in three years of high school, Huynh Nhu also won many impressive awards such as: Third Prize at the provincial level in the Science and Technology competition, success in the English Speaking Contest...

Sharing with PV, Huynh Nhu's biggest dream is to be able to touch the door of university, then find a stable job so that his parents can enjoy the rest of their lives.
"My total score for this year's high school graduation exam is 28.5. Luckily, I was introduced by the school to be given priority for direct admission to university. I really hope to be able to pass the entrance exam to be a Computer and Information Technology major, or an English Pedagogy major to continue my dream of studying," Nhu said.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Van Hoa - Principal of Luong Tam High School - said: During his studies, Nhu always had a serious attitude and a high sense of discipline, and was a typical student of the class and school in the student movements of excellent students.
"Since receiving Nhu's application, we have recognized that she is a student with special circumstances, a working-class family, low income, and a disadvantaged living area.
Faced with that reality, the school has proactively implemented many measures to support tuition exemption, provide scholarships to encourage learning, coordinate with benefactors to donate books, documents and support exam costs," Mr. Hoa added.
