On July 23, information from the Tuong Duong Medical Center said that the entire district Medical Center was in a deep flooding state, forcing authorities and medical staff to urgently evacuate 140 patients and their families by boat to safety.
According to Mr. Vy Xuan Chien - Director of Tuong Duong Medical Center, from around 3am, the water started to rise and overflow into the unit's premises. By 5am, the entire first floor was submerged, causing doctors, nurses, patients and their families to be completely isolated in the floodwaters.

However, thanks to proactive response in advance, on the night of July 22, the Center promptly moved all patients, equipment, and medical machinery to the 2nd floor to ensure safety. By early morning of July 23, two boats of local people were mobilized to transport patients to the evacuation point, Thach Giam Kindergarten (Khe Chi school).
Currently, the floodwaters have begun to recede, but the initial damage is huge. "The unit's two cars were completely flooded, and the main medicine warehouse was also seriously affected. Medical examination and treatment will certainly be interrupted in the coming time, and we are continuing to inventory the damage," Mr. Chien added.
