Analysis of the list of candidates who meet the standards of professors and associate professors in 2025 published by the State Council of Professors shows that Medicine is also the major with the most achievements with 14 new professors.
According to the latest announcement, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital is on the list of new professors of Medicine in 2025.
According to regulations, after 15 days of announcing the results, the Chairman of the State Council of Professors will sign a decision to recognize and grant certificates of meeting the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor to the candidates.
After 5 years from the date of the decision to recognize the standards, if the candidate is not appointed to the title of professor or associate professor at a higher education institution, this decision will expire.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh graduated as a Medical Doctor in 1993. In 2003, he received a master's degree in Medicine, majoring in General Surgery, and in 2012 received a doctorate in Medicine, majoring in Thoracic Surgery, also from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

From 1997 to 2007, he was a lecturer in the Department of Foreign Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
From 1998 to 1999, Dr. Dinh was a trainee in liver - pancreatic surgery and organ transplantation at the University of Louis Pasteur - Hautepierre Hospital, Strassbourg, French Republic.
From 2002 to 2004, he was a trainee in Cardiovascular Surgery at Pierre et Marie Curie Paris VI - Bichat Claude Bernard Hospital, French Republic.
From 2004 to 2006, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh was a surgeon at the Department of Resuscitation and Cardiovascular Surgery, Cho Ray Hospital.
From 2006 to 05/2024, he was Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
Since 2007, Associate Professor Dinh has worked in many positions at the Department of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He started as a lecturer, then became a senior lecturer, Deputy Head of the Department and currently holds the position of Head of the Department.
In addition, from May 2024 to present, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dinh has held the position of Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
In his medical career, Associate Professor Nguyen Hoang Dinh focused on researching four main areas including surgery for the treatment of congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, heart valve disease (especially less invasive surgery), along with procedures and endovascular intervention in the treatment of major and cardiovascular diseases in adults.
He has published 125 scientific articles, of which 15 were main authors published in prestigious international journals; and guided 5 PhD students to successfully defend their doctoral theses, including 3 people with his main mentoring.
He has been honored with many prestigious awards such as: Third Class Labor Medal (2013), Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2010), title of Excellent Doctor 2017 and Vietnam Medical Achievement Award (2020).
