Anxiously waiting
Unlike previous years, the 2025 high school graduation exam has many new points in the exam structure and subjects.
Parents Nguyen Thi Hue Chi ( whose child is studying in grade 12 at a high school in O Mon district, Can Tho city) shared that this is not the first time the family has had a child taking the graduation exam. However, the fact that their son is the first student to experience the new general education program is inevitable, so being nervous and somewhat worried is inevitable.
"From the end of the 12th grade program, the son began his peak review period. Especially, these days, when the exam is approaching, the son's learning intensity is also higher. We try to create the most comfortable mentality and do not focus on which university our child has to pass or how many scores he achieves, Ms. Chi shared.
Understanding the psychology of children during the final stage, Ms. Vo Thi Muoi ( whose child is in grade 12 at a high school in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) chose to accompany and listen, instead of putting more pressure.
According to Ms. Muoi, the pressure from the exam was already huge. If added pressure from the family, children will easily fall into a state of stress, anxiety and not have a positive impact on the exam results.
"Not only my child, but my whole family are nervous, counting down the days waiting for the official exam. We know he is under a lot of pressure. This is the time when she needs encouragement and support from her family, not just pressure, said Ms. Muoi.
From the first days of studying to the "sprinting" stage before entering the official exam, Mr. Tran Hoang Long (with a child studying in grade 12 at a high school in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) and his wife always take care of and accompany their son. Mr. Long shared that his son wished to go to medical school, so the competition rate and pressure were quite high.
"Although we know the amount of knowledge and the required scores are high, we still support it because this is her dream. But that is why we have to care for and encourage him more through listening and confiding with him. I have registered for 2 days off to accompany my grandchild during the competitions, Mr. Long confided.
Prepare carefully for the exam
Can Tho City Department of Education and Training informed that the total number of candidates registered to take the 2025 high school graduation exam in Can Tho is 13,776. Of which, 459 candidates took the 2006 exam, and 13,317 candidates took the 2018 exam.
Can Tho plans to organize 26 official exam points with 593 exam rooms, arranging 9 reserve exam points. The Department of Education and Training of the City has closely coordinated to carefully prepare the conditions for organizing the 2025 high school graduation exam on disease prevention, food safety and hygiene, ensuring electricity supply, security and order, fire prevention and fighting and developing a plan to handle unusual situations to ensure safety for the exam.
In order to prepare well for the exam, the Department has organized a conference on the 2025 high school graduation exam (1st time) to deploy exam regulations, pay attention to new points in the exam to high school education managers, leaders of the Department of Education and Training, civil servants of departments under the department. Educational institutions have also implemented exam regulations to all civil servants, students, 12th graders and parents.
