Although it is only the beginning of the summer vacation, swimming classes in Dien Bien have begun to "hotter". Many parents spend millions of VND on a swimming course for their children, hoping that their children will not only exercise but more importantly, equip themselves with drowning prevention skills.
According to Lao Dong, at Bon Mua Swimming pool (Nam Thanh ward, Dien Bien Phu city), many children attend swimming classes. The children's laughter and playing are in harmony with the whistles and instructions of the coaches, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh (Nam Thanh ward) one of many parents present at this swimming pool said that she had sent all 3 children (3 years old, 6 years old and 9 years old) to swimming school in the summer. With a total tuition fee of more than 4 million VND, Ms. Oanh thinks this is a very useful and profitable investment.
According to Ms. Oanh, the main goal when letting children learn to swim is to help them practice themselves, stay away from electronic devices, gain more life skills and especially prevent drowning accidents, a constant worry every summer.
Not only Ms. Oanh, many other parents in the Muong Thanh basin area (Dien Bien Phu city and Dien Bien district) also have the same opinion. Many parents realize the importance of equipping their children with drowning prevention skills.
Every afternoon, taking her daughter more than 5 km to learn swimming, Ms. Lo Thi Hien (Thanh Yen commune, Dien Bien district) said: "With a tuition fee of 1.3 million VND, it is also a significant amount for a farming family like us, but thinking about the safety of her child, it is not a pity. In addition, everyone around me sends my child to school, so I also try Ms. Hien said.
To meet the increasing needs of parents, swimming centers in Dien Bien Phu City have proactively developed plans and deployed many classes.
Mr. Pham Duc Phuoc - Coach of Dien Bien Swimming Teaching Center said: "In the summer of this year, the center will organize many activities and swimming lessons in Dien Bien Phu City. With the goal of helping children learn to swim and master survival skills, prevent accidents, especially drowning".
According to Mr. Phuoc, Dien Bien Swimming Teaching Center currently has 16 teachers directly teaching. Most of the teachers graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sports and have professional certificates in swimming and rescue.
A comprehensive swimming course in Dien Bien Phu City has tuition fees ranging from about 1.3 million VND. Each class usually lasts about 1:30 a.m., each teacher is in charge of 3 to 5 students to ensure close follow-up and detailed guidance.
"After about 10-20 classes, we aim that the children will achieve basic swimming skills and water safety skills according to the center's standards" - Mr. Phuoc added.
