Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University said that in 2025, three admission methods will be unified: Direct admission; Admission based on the results of the Competency Assessment Test organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University; Admission based on high school exam results.
In the 2024 enrollment period, member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University will enroll students according to 5-9 methods (depending on the school).
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan added that member schools will be encouraged to develop a combined admission method.
Ho Chi Minh City National University will determine the threshold to ensure common input quality throughout the system. Units will be autonomous in determining and selecting admission criteria and implementation methods appropriate to their training majors.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Education said that from 2025, the school will no longer use the admission method based on high school academic results (report cards). The school will only retain the threshold conditions to ensure input quality to meet the requirements according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The school is orienting the method of using specialized competency assessment exams to become an independent admission method.
It is expected that this method will include the use of 2 subjects for admission to each major, in which one major subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2 and one minor subject is not multiplied by a coefficient, helping to comprehensively assess the candidate's learning ability and suitability to the requirements of each major.
The school's expected admission methods include: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; Priority admission and admission of specialized class students; Admission based on specialized capacity assessment exams; Admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade plans to reserve a maximum of 20% of its enrollment quota for considering academic transcript scores in the 2025 enrollment year, a 10% decrease compared to 2024.
Accordingly, the school plans to continue to reserve 50-60% of its quota for admission based on high school graduation scores in 2025. The remaining quota will be for direct admission; based on the capacity assessment score of Ho Chi Minh City National University; and based on the specialized capacity assessment score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade also plans to make changes in the admission subject combinations. In particular, it will recruit additional admission combinations belonging to block C, such as combination C00 (Literature, History, Geography) and C03 (Literature, Mathematics, History)...
