According to Lao Dong, currently, more than 70 universities have announced the review of high school transcripts in 2025.
Some schools consider high school transcripts independently, taking scores for 3 subjects according to the admission combination. Meanwhile, many schools have abandoned independent consideration, combining additional criteria such as foreign language certificates, competency assessment test scores, combined interviews, etc.
Accordingly, the admission method for each school is also different.
For example, at Hanoi University of Industry, candidates cannot consider independent admission to the school like in previous years. Instead, the school combines this criterion with international certificates, excellent student awards, competency assessment test scores of Hanoi National University and thinking assessment test scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Similarly, the University of Commerce also abandoned the consideration of the transcript of three subjects, only considering combining two subjects with foreign language certificates and applying them to some international-oriented majors.
The Vietnam Women's Academy also maintains the method of considering high school transcripts for the 2025 admission season. With the 3-year study record review method, the academy will review the learning results of all 3 years of grades 10, 11 and 12. It is expected that this method will open admission registration from May 2025.
In the Southern region, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plans to abandon the option of considering admission for 3 semesters (class 11 and semester 1 of grade 12) but still maintain the method of considering admission for 3 subjects in grade 12.
Schools: University of Finance - Marketing; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education; Ho Chi Minh City Banking University,.... also plan to consider high school transcripts in 2025.
For military schools alone, last year, except for the Military Technical Academy and the Military Medical Academy, the remaining schools reserved about 10% of their quota for admission based on academic records.
Candidates need to have a summarizing score of 7 or higher for each high school year, with the minimum score for the subjects in the admission combination being 7.5.
In 2025, in the enrollment consultation program on March 2, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Dung said that with the method of considering transcripts, schools plan to reduce quotas. After the Ministry of Education and Training issues the official admission regulations, the school will provide detailed information.
