At a press conference this morning (July 17) in Ha Long, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Son - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training - said that the unit is currently carrying out procedures to apply for a policy to build a socialist school.
After having the policy, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province will coordinate with relevant units to develop a project to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
Also according to Mr. Son, this school may be a multi-level school and will be completely newly built at a new location.
Socialist schools will be different from specialized schools. In which there will be special core values, from which to build specific plans on operating models, school functions, teaching staff, mechanisms, policies...
Quang Ninh province hopes to put this socialist school into operation from 2027.
Also at the press conference, representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province informed about new mechanisms and policies to support students in the 2026-2027 school year.
In which, Quang Ninh province will support free of charge all textbooks for students of public schools. Accordingly, students will be able to borrow textbooks for free and must return them after studying so that the school can borrow them for the next grade.
Also according to a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province, there are no sanctions for students who tear or lose books, but lending books for free is partly to support families, partly to educate students to know how to preserve property and be more responsible towards later generations.
In addition, the province also allocates a part of the budget to buy additional books in case students lose their books.
Regarding the organization of school buses, in the immediate future, it will be piloted in some central wards of former Ha Long City, including: Ha Long, Hong Gai, Ha Tu and some border and island communes right in the 2026-2027 school year, then draw experience and study to replicate throughout the province.
