According to the report of the Social Insurance (SI) of Tay Ninh province, in the 2024-2025 school year, the health insurance fund has paid more than 52.7 billion VND for medical examination and treatment for students in the area, with more than 148,000 beneficiaries inside and outside the province.
Notably, there were 44 cases of HSSV receiving payment of VND100 million or more for each treatment. The highest case is a student in Long An ward who was paid over 483 million VND due to acute white blood disease. Some other students were also paid hundreds of millions of VND such as: over 361 million VND for a case of sepsis shock, over 301 million VND for a case of infectious thrombocytopenic syndrome, and over 293 million VND for a case of neuropathy inflammation.
In addition to medical examination and treatment costs, the provincial Social Insurance has transferred more than 20.79 billion VND in initial health care funds to schools in the past school year. By July 31, 2025, the whole province has 707 school units with 492,954 students participating in health insurance, reaching a rate of 99.92%.
These figures show that health insurance policies have contributed significantly to supporting HSSV to access quality healthcare services, reducing the financial burden on families when their children unfortunately get sick, and at the same time creating conditions for them to return to school soon.
Entering the 2025-2026 school year, the Social Insurance sector of Tay Ninh province sets a target of 100% of students participating in health insurance. To achieve this result, it is necessary to have synchronous coordination from schools, teachers, parents and the whole society in raising awareness, encouraging HSSV to participate, ensuring comprehensive health care benefits.
