On November 11, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune (Quang Tri province) said that it had discussed a handling plan related to Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue - Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, who was suspended from work after a suspected food poisoning incident that hospitalized dozens of students in September.
According to the leader of Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee, Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue will expire the second suspension period from November 13. According to current regulations, the suspension period can only be implemented a maximum of 2 times. When there is no official conclusion from the authorities, the suspended person will be able to return to work normally.
To ensure a stable situation in the school, the People's Committee of the commune discussed and proposed that the school's Board of Directors organize a meeting with parents, village elders, and village chiefs and disseminate this regulation to parents to avoid causing concern.
At the same time, the school was proposed to rearrange the work, arrange Ms. Hue not to be in charge of the students' kitchens as well as implement appropriate conditions from parents.
The leader of Kim Ngan commune also said that the locality has informed the authorities, requesting that the investigation results and conclusions of the case be available soon as a basis for final handling, helping the school and the government to be more convenient in management and stabilizing teaching and learning activities.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of September 26, after breakfast at school, 40 students showed symptoms of nausea and abdominal pain and were taken to the emergency room. Up to now, their health has stabilized.
The Pasteur Nha Trang Institute concluded: of the 4 tested food samples, 1 was positive for Bacillus cereus bacteria, a type of bacteria that often exists in soil, dust, and water, which can cause poisoning when cooked food is left at room temperature for a long time.
After that, Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee issued 2 consecutive decisions to suspend Ms. Thuy to verify and clarify the incident.
