On the afternoon of May 26, Ms. P.T. D - a secondary school teacher in Cua Lo ward, Nghe An province - said that she had just received a 5-month salary and allowance, from January to May 2026, through her personal account with the amount of tens of millions of VND.
According to Ms. D, this is the salary for May and the retroactive payment of 4 months' salary from the beginning of 2026 to now. After many months without stable income, being paid salary made her and many contract teachers in the area very happy and touched.

“For the past 5 months, I have still been teaching and working fully but without salary. I and many teachers have encountered many difficulties, and have repeatedly petitioned competent authorities. In that process, there has been active and responsible companionship from Lao Dong Newspaper. Today, receiving the May salary and retroactively receiving 4 months' salary from the beginning of the year, I am very happy and would like to send my sincere thanks to your Lao Dong Newspaper,” Ms. D shared.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, previously, some contract teachers in Cua Lo ward and in Nghe An province fell into difficult circumstances because they had not been paid salaries and allowances for many months. Although they still fully performed their teaching and professional activities, participated in school activities, their income was interrupted for a long time, greatly affecting their lives.
Many teachers said that their main source of income is their monthly salary. Long-term salary delays have caused many people to borrow money to cover living expenses, raise children to study and maintain family life.
After the reflection, local functional agencies intervened to review and remove obstacles related to the payment of benefits. By the afternoon of May 26, some teachers confirmed that they had received salaries and allowances through accounts.
Timely payment of outstanding salaries and allowances not only helps teachers stabilize their lives, but also contributes to encouraging staff to feel secure in their work and continue to complete their tasks in the 2025-2026 school year.
