After the opening ceremony, 10th grade students officially enter a new learning journey with many changes in the environment, learning methods and goals to prepare for 3 years of high school.
For many students, grade 10 is not only a transition from secondary school to high school but also the first stage to get used to the new learning method, being more proactive in arranging time and determining goals for the upcoming school years.
Proactively get acquainted with new learning methods
Entering 10th grade, Chu Pham Thanh Loan - a student at Kinh Do High School (Hanoi) - said that she is focusing on getting acquainted with the new learning environment and how to study at the high school level.
According to Thanh Loan, the amount of knowledge in high school may be more than in middle school, while students also need to be more proactive instead of waiting for teachers to remind them.
I think the most important thing at this time is to get used to the new learning method. I want to try to keep up with the lessons in class, if there are any parts that I don't understand, I will ask the teachers or find out more myself" - Thanh Loan shared.
After the opening ceremony, the female student also began to rearrange her schedule to balance between studying in class, self-study and rest.
Thanh Loan believes that creating a learning habit right from the beginning of 10th grade will help her avoid the situation of concentrating knowledge at the end of the semester or starting to worry about future orientation in the final years of high school.
Set goals but don't put pressure on yourself
Meanwhile, Nguyen Ton Huy - a student at Kinh Do High School (Hanoi) - shared that he has started thinking about goals in 3 years of high school, but does not want to put too much pressure on himself from the first year.
Huy plans to focus on subjects that he is not really solid in the immediate future, and at the same time maintain stable results in other subjects.
I want 10th grade to be a time to find out which study method I am suitable for and which subject I have strengths in. After that, I will more clearly define the goals for 11th and 12th grades" - Huy said.
According to the male student, transferring to high school also requires students to be more self-conscious in preparing homework, doing homework and managing time. Therefore, he plans to limit learning by inspiration and try to maintain a regular schedule.
For Le Thi Ngoc Ha - a student at a high school in Hanoi - the early days of entering 10th grade brought a feeling of excitement and a bit of awkwardness.
Ha said that the new environment, new friends and high school subjects make her have many things to get used to. However, after the opening ceremony, the female student felt more confident and started planning for the first school year.
When I first entered school, I was quite nervous because everything was new. After the first days of getting acquainted, I felt I needed to be more proactive, especially in studying and communicating with teachers and friends" - Ha shared.
The female student aims to maintain good academic results, and participate in some school activities to gain more experience in high school years.
Not only interested in scores, Ha believes that 3 years of high school is also a time for students to better understand their interests, abilities and what they want to pursue after graduation.
