Candidates' rights are guaranteed
The above information is receiving the attention of many students, teachers and parents. The biggest concern of candidates is whether reducing enrollment quotas through early admission will reduce the chance of being admitted to university or not?
In response to candidates' concerns, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the regulation limiting 20% of the quota for early admission is based on the practical situation of admission work in recent years, so that early admission only focuses on candidates with outstanding abilities and academic achievements, limiting the impact on students' studies in the final semester of grade 12 and high school graduation exam preparation.
Ms. Thuy affirmed that reducing the scale of early admission not only does not cause difficulties, but also creates more favorable conditions for the admission work of schools and candidates.
The 2025 enrollment plan will be announced soon.
Giving comments on the Draft Circular amending and supplementing the regulations on admission to university and college levels in preschool education, Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Admissions, University of Commerce, supported the new points in the Draft of the Ministry of Education and Training related to early admission and admission based on high school transcripts.
According to Mr. Trung, using the results of the entire 12th grade year to consider transcripts will promote students' spirit of effort in studying, avoiding the situation where many students are negligent and subjective because they were admitted early and did not fully develop their abilities in the high school graduation exam.
"Basically, the number of candidates, wishes and quotas of schools remain unchanged. Therefore, if candidates are not considered in advance, they will be considered later. The policy of the Ministry of Education and Training is to find truly outstanding candidates in the early admission round. For those who are not admitted early, the school will still ensure that they can be considered in the next round," said Mr. Trung.
Although he supports the new points of the draft, what worries Mr. Trung is that if 80% of the admission quota (with many methods) is pushed into the general admission round, it could overload the system, making it very susceptible to technical risks.
Regarding the enrollment plan of the University of Commerce, Mr. Trung said that the enrollment quota and enrollment methods are still similar to previous years, without much fluctuation.
However, the school will make adjustments to the admission combinations to comply with the regulations and add some combinations to facilitate students.
"This year, the school will announce the enrollment plan earlier than every year. Currently, we are in the process of preparing the enrollment plan and will make it public as soon as the enrollment regulations are issued and there are instructions from the Ministry," Mr. Trung informed.
