According to Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021, public university tuition fees are based on a roadmap to ensure the cost of education and training services. The State sets a tuition ceiling for tuition by industry and for each school year, schools are not allowed to exceed. For programs that have been quality-assessed, universities are allowed to determine tuition fees themselves.
The roadmap for increasing tuition fees is often included in the annual enrollment plan by schools. This year, some schools have proposed an expected increase in tuition fees compared to last year.
Last year, many schools also noted that candidates will adjust tuition fees in the direction of increasing tuition fees by 8-15% per year.
The annual increase in university tuition fees is always an issue of concern to many people. In which, there was a question from Mr. N.V.H: "I want to study a profession on the list of arduous and toxic professions. May I ask, are only those who have a household registration in the place where the educational institution is operating considered for tuition compensation? ".
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Education and Training responded on the Government Electronic Information Portal as follows:
Point b, Clause 1, Article 16 of Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021 stipulates the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies on tuition exemption and reduction, study cost support; service prices in the field of education and training stipulate subjects entitled to policies on 70% tuition reduction:
"Students studying royal music, Cheo, Tuong, Cai Luong, dance, circus; some heavy, toxic, and dangerous occupations for vocational education according to the list of heavy, toxic, and dangerous occupations prescribed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs".
Thus, students majoring in occupations that are arduous and toxic to vocational education according to the list prescribed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will enjoy a policy of 70% tuition reduction, without regulations on household registration at the location where the educational institution is operating.
