Mr. H.V. G has relatives who were admitted to the Philosophy major at Tay Nguyen University. Mr. V.G asked, based on Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP, are Philosophy students at Tay Nguyen University exempt from tuition fees?
The Ministry of Education and Training said that, according to the provisions of Clause 8, Article 15 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP, the State only implements the policy of tuition fee exemption for students studying in the fields of: Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought.
Compared to the current list of training majors, Philosophy and Marxism-Leninism are 2 different independent major codes. Tay Nguyen University has a Philosophy major, not a Marxism-Leninism major, so students in the Philosophy major are not eligible for tuition fee exemption according to the above regulations.
However, Mr. H.V. G's grandson can still be considered for tuition fee exemption or reduction if he belongs to other subjects (ethnic minorities from poor households, near-poor households; ethnic minorities in particularly difficult areas... ) specified in other clauses of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP.
