On the afternoon of January 6, the Department of Education and Training (GDDT) of Ho Chi Minh City issued a document informing the People's Committees of 168 wards, communes, special zones and high schools at many levels about the selection of the third exam subject in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year.
Accordingly, candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year will take 3 subjects including: Math, Literature (exam time 120 minutes/subject), foreign language (90 minutes) if taking the regular 10th grade exam and the specialized or integrated subject test if taking the entrance exam to the specialized or integrated 10th grade.
Previously, on October 22, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the structure, evaluation requirements and competency and thinking level tables for the 10th grade exam for the 2026-2027 school year of Literature, Math and English subjects to all secondary schools to prepare 9th grade students to participate in the 10th grade entrance exam in 2026.
The exam is expected to take place in early June 2026.
