In the afternoon of January 7, a yacht anchored on the Saigon River, near Saigon Bridge, suddenly caught fire fiercely. The flames rose high with a column of black smoke, causing many people and passersby to panic.
The fire occurred at about 4 pm on January 7 in Thanh My Tay ward, Ho Chi Minh City. According to initial information, local people discovered fire breaking out from a yacht anchored on the Saigon River, about 200 m from Saigon Bridge.
In just a few minutes, the fire quickly spread and covered the entire hull. Due to flammable materials on the ship, black smoke columns rose tens of meters high.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police quickly mobilized many specialized vehicles and dozens of soldiers to approach the scene. Functional forces deployed firefighting plans simultaneously from both the river and onshore to control the fire.

By 4:35 PM on the same day, the fire still broke out very strongly, burning down many assets and equipment inside the ship. Currently, firefighters are still making efforts to completely extinguish the fire.



Currently, the scene area has been sealed off to serve firefighting and ensure safety.
