The Department of Education and Training (GDDT) of Can Tho City has just issued an official dispatch on strengthening the prevention and control of dengue fever and summer epidemics.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training recommends that affiliated units strengthen the implementation of measures to prevent and control dengue fever and summer epidemics according to the instructions of the health sector, including cleaning the school environment, killing mosquito larvae, fighting mosquitoes, preventing water stagnation, covering water containers, overturning items that may contain unnecessary water to eliminate places where mosquitoes lay eggs.
To promptly detect suspected cases of disease and notify local health facilities for handling, not causing the epidemic to spread in schools, units need to coordinate with families to monitor the health status of preschool children and students. Thereby, preparing the best conditions to ensure the safety of preschool children and students in the summer and school year 2025 - 2026.
The Department of Education and Training also recommends that units closely coordinate with the local health sector to carry out disease prevention and control in schools; promote propaganda in many forms. Communication work, mobilizing parents and families to fully vaccinate children according to the instructions of the health sector need to continue to be carried out.
For preschool education institutions that are organizing child care, care and education during the summer, the Department of Education and Training requires regular implementation of "3 clean" (clean eating, clean living and clean hands); cleaning classrooms, cleaning table surfaces and chairs, daily toys with soap or common cleaning agents to prevent and control hand, foot and mouth disease; regularly updating information on the situation and strictly implementing requirements for disease prevention and control.
