On August 24, the Office of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that according to the decisions on arranging educational institutions of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, 10 Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers are reorganized into 5 centers; and 2 schools are merged into one school. Units after arrangement are directly under the Department of Education and Training.
Nhu Xuan Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center was merged into Nhu Thanh Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center. The merged unit retains the name of Nhu Thanh Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center, headquarters in Ben Sung 2 village, Nhu Thanh commune; branch in Yen Xuan village, Nhu Xuan commune.
The Thieu Hoa Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center is merged into the Trieu Son Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center. The merged center has its headquarters in Dan Luc village, Trieu Son commune and a branch in Phu Hung village, Thieu Hoa commune.
Ha Trung Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center is merged into Hau Loc Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center. The headquarters of the unit after the merger is located in Tran Phu village, Hau Loc commune; branch in Hoa Binh village, Ha Trung commune.
Nghi Son Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center is merged into Nong Cong Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center. The center after arrangement is headquartered at 216 Lam Son street, Yen Hoa village, Nong Cong commune; branch at 41 Le The Son, Tinh Gia ward.
In the mountainous area, Quan Son Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center was merged into Quan Hoa Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center. The merged unit retains the name of Quan Hoa Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center, headquarters in Hoi Xuan village, Hoi Xuan commune; branch at No. 43 Muong Ha street, Quan Son commune.
Thus, the above 5 decisions alone will reorganize 10 Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers into 5 centers, and old facilities will continue to be used in the form of headquarters and branches.
In addition to the central system, Thanh Hoa province also decided to merge Yen Dinh 3 High School into Thong Nhat Secondary and High School. The merged school retains the name of Thong Nhat Secondary and High School, the main school is in Nong Truong village, Yen Phu commune and the branch is in Xuan Hoa village, Yen Phu commune.
The institutions after the merger are all public educational units, with legal status, accounts and private seals, under the management of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to take the lead in handing over and receiving learners, civil servants, contract workers, finance, assets, projects, dossiers, documents and related contents. According to the decisions, this work must be completed before August 30, 2026.
According to the overall plan approved by Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2387/QD-UBND dated August 5, 2026, as of June 30, 2026, the whole province has 24 public continuing education institutions, including 23 Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers and 1 Thanh Hoa Provincial Continuing Education - General Technical Center. The province has 8 public secondary schools under the management of the locality.
Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers are types of institutions that both perform Continuing Education tasks and organize or coordinate vocational training, meeting the needs of people for cultural education, vocational training and regular learning.
This arrangement focuses on centers with small training scale, few classes, few students, operating ineffectively or located close to each other, favorable for reorganization. After the arrangement, the province still requires ensuring the needs for regular learning, vocational training and lifelong learning of people in inter-commune and ward areas.
