The Ministry of Education and Training has announced the decision to approve the joint organization of the ÖSD German language certificate exam between the Institute for Vocational Education Studies (IVES) and the ÖSD German Language Proficiency Assessment Association of the Republic of Austria.
According to the decision, the parties are responsible for complying with Vietnamese law, commitments and plans to ensure the conditions for joint organization of foreign language proficiency certification exams as prescribed in Decree No. 86/2018/ND-CP of the Government regulating foreign cooperation and investment in the field of education and Circular No. 11/2022/TT-BGDDT of the Minister of Education and Training regulating joint organization of foreign language proficiency certification exams as presented in the Project on joint organization of German language proficiency certification exams ÖSD dated November 4, 2024.
Candidates are those who need to take the ÖSD German language certificate exam. The exam questions, registration process, exam organization process; facilities and equipment for organizing the exam; ensuring security, safety and confidentiality before, during and after the exam; staff, technicians and employees of the parties participating in organizing the exam shall comply with the regulations of the ÖSD German Language Proficiency Assessment Association of the Republic of Austria and the laws of Vietnam.
The exam is held at the Institute for Vocational Education. The certificate issued is the ÖSD Zertifikat with levels A1, A2, B1, B2.
Previously, Hanoi University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh City National University were the two units licensed to organize the exam.
Thus, with this decision, the Institute of Vocational Education is the third unit in Vietnam licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training to organize the ÖSD German language certificate exam.
The German language proficiency certificate issued by ÖSD is a globally recognized certificate, with levels for children, adolescents and adults according to the European reference framework.
ÖSD is headquartered in Vienna, Austria and is held at over 400 licensed ÖSD test centres worldwide. Approximately 100,000 candidates take the exam each year. The ÖSD certificate can be used for a variety of purposes (residence permit, Austrian citizenship, vocational training, university studies, work in Germany, Austria, etc.).
The ÖSD certificate recognized by the German Embassy in Vietnam is equivalent to German language certificates issued by organizations such as: Goethe Institute foreign language certificate; Telc GmbH foreign language certificate; TestDaF Institute TestDaF certificate; ECL foreign language certificate.
