On August 29, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, at the construction site of Huong Khe Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School (in Huong Khe commune), nearly 200 workers are urgently constructing the final items.
At the construction site, many groups of workers simultaneously perform tasks such as plastering, painting walls, tiling schoolyards, installing air conditioners, electrical equipment...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen (38 years old, residing in Phu Ha village, Huong Khe commune) - a worker working at the scaffolding department - said that she had worked at the construction site for a while and was paid daily.
“I work 8 hours a day, the wage is more than 400,000 VND. Women working on the construction site are quite hard, especially at a time when they have to speed up progress. However, for livelihood, they have to try,” Ms. Duyen shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van Luan (53 years old, residing in Huong Khe commune), a construction worker who has worked at the construction site for many months, said that he is paid 500,000 VND per day.
Having a modern school right in my hometown, I am very happy. The completed school will help my hometown children have better learning conditions," Mr. Luan said.
Mr. Le Van Phong - Commander of the construction site of Huong Khe Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School of Construction Mechanical Engineering Joint Stock Company under Hanoi Construction Corporation - said that to date, the total construction volume of the project has reached about 95%.
Currently, nearly 200 workers are gathered at the construction site every day to complete the final items, with the goal of being able to bring the new school year to the opening ceremony on September 5.
To speed up the progress, some housework items such as installing doors, air conditioning, electrical equipment, and painting walls are being organized by us to work overtime at night. This September 2nd holiday, workers are also constructing throughout the holiday," Mr. Phong said.
According to Mr. Phong, in the past time, the contractor has focused manpower and made efforts to accelerate progress. However, unfavorable weather and heavy rain have affected the construction process, making the project unable to be completed before August 30 as directed.
Due to the tight time, the contractor will prioritize completing the school row to be put into operation in time for the opening of the new school year. The multi-purpose building will be completed later, expected to be about 3 weeks late.
The Huong Khe Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School project is built in Huong Khe commune, on an area of more than 5 hectares, with a cost of about 160 billion VND.
The project was started on November 9, 2025, invested by the Ha Tinh Provincial Civil and Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board. According to the progress, the project must be completed and handed over before August 30, 2026.
At Son Kim 1 Inter-level Boarding Primary School - Secondary School (Ha Tinh province), Mr. Pham Anh Hao - Chairman of Son Kim 1 Commune People's Committee - said that according to the investor's report, the project has currently reached nearly 95% of the volume.
The contractor is focusing maximum manpower, accelerating the construction progress to complete and be ready to organize the new school year opening ceremony on September 5.
Son Kim 1 Inter-level Boarding Primary School - Secondary School is built on an area of more than 5 hectares, with a scale of 40 classrooms, serving more than 1,300 students. Construction investment cost is about 140 billion VND.
