Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has just signed Decision No. 2732/QD-TTg approving the Project to enhance foreign language teaching and learning for the period 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045.
The project aims to build and implement language teaching programs of a number of countries in the ASEAN region in the 2025-2030 period, prioritizing Lao language teaching programs and Cambodian national language teaching programs at educational and training institutions that are in need and are eligible for implementation, especially in border communes.
Develop and implement foreign language teaching programs in vocational training institutions, higher education institutions, and continuing education institutions, ensuring that they meet the needs of learners and are suitable for practice.
Develop and pilot selective activities for preschool children to get acquainted with Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
Continue to pilot optional programs to get acquainted with Chinese, Russian, French, German, Japanese, and Korean for first and second graders, Korean and German language teaching programs in general education at educational institutions that are in need and qualified for implementation.
Strengthen the implementation of foreign language teaching, integrated foreign language and content teaching, foreign language teaching of subjects, majors and occupations in the national education system, including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean to meet the needs of learners, in accordance with the conditions of localities and educational institutions.
Maintain and improve the quality of teaching and learning Russian, French, German and other foreign languages in the national education system.
In order to develop a team of teachers and lecturers teaching foreign languages and teaching foreign languages to ensure sufficient quantity and synchronous quality, the project requires the recruitment of teachers and lecturers teaching foreign languages, including foreign teachers and lecturers, to ensure quality, meeting job needs, job positions, and professional title standards.
Thereby, to implement foreign language teaching, teaching and learning in foreign languages according to school levels and training levels to ensure compliance with current regulations; prioritize and pay attention to developing foreign language teachers and lecturers in border communes.
The project requires research, development, pilot implementation, summary and evaluation, promulgation of programs, textbooks, curriculum, documents, learning materials for teaching and learning foreign languages, teaching foreign languages integrated in a number of subjects (such as Math, natural science, social science, science), and training majors.
