In recent days, the demand for buying textbooks and school supplies to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year in Ca Mau has increased. However, some bookstores and distribution stores in the province have experienced a local shortage of some book titles, causing parents to have to go to many places to buy enough sets.
Mr. Tran The (in Khanh An commune) said that to prepare books for his child to enter 6th grade, he had to find and buy them at many bookstores and then combine them to make a complete set: "In previous years, it was very easy to buy, but this year I don't know why it's so difficult to buy.

The situation of localized textbook shortages also occurs at other levels of education, mainly with some exercise books. Tran Hong Nhien - a student preparing to enter 10th grade in Bac Lieu ward - said that she has bought books at many bookstores but still lacks 4-5 books.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, the whole province currently lacks about 15,000 textbooks of all kinds.
Ca Mau Book - Equipment Joint Stock Company said that the total book supply is not short, the shortage situation only occurs locally in some book titles and at some times. The main reason is that books are not supplied synchronously. The unit is coordinating with suppliers to supplement all book titles before the opening day.
Faced with the above situation, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan requested functional units and distribution units to work with publishers to supplement the shortage of books.
Leaders of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee requested that at the latest by the end of August, the remaining book shortage must be fully supplied, determined not to let any students have to take leave from school due to lack of books or school supplies when entering the new school year.
