According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, as of the morning of November 13, 163 students of Con Cuong Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities were infected with influenza A. Many students had to be hospitalized for treatment, the rest were monitored at home. Currently, 388 students in the whole school are still absent from school to prevent the epidemic.
Con Cuong Medical Center has cleaned and disinfected the entire classroom, boarding area and collective living areas of the school; at the same time, continuing to support the treatment and monitoring of the health of students with influenza.
Nghe An Department of Education and Training requires schools and localities to focus all their efforts on caring for and treating students infected with the flu; at the same time, develop a review plan and make-up teaching after they return to school.
On the same day, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said that the number of children hospitalized for flu treatment did not increase dramatically, and there were no unusual flu cases compared to previous days.
Nghe An Department of Education and Training also said that, besides Con Cuong Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, there is currently no other educational institution in the province reporting the situation of many students getting the flu. Teaching and learning activities in other localities are still taking place normally.
Nghe An Department of Health recommends that influenza A is a respiratory infectious disease caused by the influenza A virus, with symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue. Effective preventive measures include annual vaccination, regular hand washing, covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing, wearing a mask and limiting contact with sick people and crowded places.
