Not affected much
After a week since Circular 29 on extra teaching and learning took effect, which stipulates that schools are only allowed to organize extra teaching and learning in schools for 3 groups of disadvantaged students, excellent students and final year students, at the same time, the teaching of these 3 groups is not allowed to collect fees, it is noteworthy that students in boarding schools in Dien Bien province are less affected by this Circular.

Discussing this issue with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Vu Trung Hoan - Principal of Dien Bien Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities said that Circular 29 has many innovations in line with reality, helping to more closely manage extra teaching and learning activities, ensuring transparency, fairness and rights for both teachers and students.
If implemented synchronously and effectively, the Circular will contribute to improving the quality of education, limiting the widespread situation of extra teaching, and creating a healthier learning environment for students.

"For students in ethnic boarding schools, Circular 29 does not affect them much, because ethnic boarding schools organize teaching sessions 2 days/day, so they have been trained and introduced to self-study, self- proactiveness in knowledge equipment and fields" - Mr. Hoan said.
Mr. Hoan added that for high schools to effectively implement Circular 29, schools need to proactively adjust the training and supervision plan for students in accordance with the spirit of the Circular, and at the same time arrange self-study periods to help students proactively acquired knowledge for students, promoting the positivity of learners.
Students experience practical work
At Dien Bien Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, career guidance experiences are organized regularly to help students connect knowledge of books with reality.
Teacher Tran Thi Ha - Dien Bien Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - said: "Through these activities, students have the opportunity to explore local professions. They directly observed the production process, thereby better understanding the value of their hometown's products and market demand".

Ms. Ha added that in addition to the knowledge they have learned in books, students can meet and exchange with workers who directly create the products. From there, they can find ideas to start a business in the future for themselves.
However, Ms. Ha also commented that the biggest difficulty when children experience reality is that local vocational production facilities are still limited and not diverse.

Having an interesting practical experience at a 7,000m2 strawberry and potato garden in Na Luong village, Na Tau commune, Dien Bien Phu city, Lo Thi Khanh Huyen - a 10th grade student at Dien Bien Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - said: "Today's experience has brought me and my classmates many emotions. The practical lessons from this activity not only help us have memorable experiences, but also supplement the theoretical knowledge learned in class.
