Nguyen Trong Hoang studied at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai), was admitted to the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, majoring in Circuit Systems - Hardware, Advanced Program of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University under the Priority Admission method; received the National Encouragement Prize for Excellent Students in English in the 2019-2020 school year.
Hoang said that when he was young, he was very impressed with the automatic doors that opened and closed at the supermarket near his house, so when he applied for university, he chose Automation.
However, during my studies, I found that the Microchip - Hardware major was more suitable, so I registered to study it, instead of choosing the Automation major of the Control - Automation department as I originally planned.
Talking about the pressure during the learning process, Hoang said that it depends on the goals each student sets. If students want to get high scores to win scholarships, they must really concentrate when studying in class, doing homework and reviewing for midterm and final exams.
According to the new valedictorian, the mid-term period is the most stressful time because you have to spend a lot of time reviewing for exams, taking exams, and then doing homework that can be from 2 to 4 subjects at the same time. When you finish your homework, it is time for the final exam, so you need to review for the final exam at the same time.
"My secret to studying is to work professionally and proactively right from the first days of each subject. I usually actively research the lesson before class, from many sources (Internet, slides, textbooks, etc.). And when I'm in class, it's an important time to ask teachers any questions I have," Hoang shared.
Talking about his future plans, Hoang said he will continue to study abroad in Canada for a master's degree in the field of Circuit Systems - Hardware, and further research on optimal methods for microcircuit design.
Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Trang - Head of Postgraduate Training Department, Hoang's supervisor - said that she was very impressed with Hoang, because he is a student who always has many questions and often asks questions.
"I was impressed with Hoang from the first year of school. Although at that time, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to study online, but because he often asked questions, I remembered his name even though I didn't know his face. Later, the more I worked and taught, I realized that Hoang had a very methodical and serious learning spirit," Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Trang said.
