Mai Quang Minh Tri is a former Math major at Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted - Hue. In the high school graduation exam, Tri achieved 27.25 points according to the A01 combination. With 97.24 total admission scores - including competency assessment test scores (DGNL), graduation, academic records and personal achievements, Tri was admitted to the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) in the position of Pharmacy.
Minh Tri's learning journey is associated with his special love for Math. Although he achieved 1,047 points in the first round of the National High School Grants Exam, Tri was determined to take the second round to improve his Math part. "There is still one more exam, another opportunity to improve, why not try it", Tri shared.
That effort brought excellent results: 300 absolute points in Math, 284 points in Scientific Thinking, 278 points in Vietnamese and 260 points in English.
According to Minh Tri, being careful and a relaxed mentality are the keys to avoiding mistakes and achieving the desired results.
Male students determine that a firm grasp of core knowledge is a prerequisite, because although the structure of the high school and continuing education exam is different, they are all based on the same platform. "I chose a combination of Math and English - two subjects that account for half of the questions in the National High School equations exam, so reviewing one subject is two questions," Tri said.
Tri's biggest difficulty was the Vietnamese part, so he spent a lot of time practicing and using knowledge system documents from the center. With the Logical Thinking and Data Analysis section, Tri focuses on practicing his reasoning, reading comprehension and calculation skills.
Tri's secret also lies in allocating time appropriately. In the first phase of studying English and English, studying for a university degree is about 1.5 hours/day; when preparing for the exam and approaching the exam, the time increases to 4 hours/day.
Tri often simulates 2:30 minutes as in the exam room to get used to the pressure. The remaining time I spent studying in the national high school exam.
In addition to studying, Tri still took the opportunity to play games and go out with family and friends to balance his spirit.
In grade 11, Minh Tri did not achieve the expected results in the national excellent student exam in Math. From that experience, I decided to focus on the National High School and High School Exams, considering this an important turning point.
"I learned that I need to study solidly the knowledge of high school exams - the foundation for both high school and vocational education. Do not study too much for a single exam because it is easy to face risks," Tri shared.
