During the April 2026 graduation ceremony of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Nguyen Ho Phuoc Hien, a student of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology, was one of the typical faces when he graduated early with excellent grades.
Hien achieved an accumulated average score of 3.6/4, TOEIC 770 and had a graduation project reaching 9.74. Previously, the male student also won the Ninety Eight Scholarship and the title of comprehensive excellent student.
At the time of university admission, Hien was admitted under priority direct admission for excellent students. She has a competency assessment score of 993, combined A01 score of 27.4 and high school average score of 9.6.

During her studies, Hien soon participated in scientific research and left her mark with a topic on protecting privacy in the smart home healthcare system.
The topic focuses on solving the problem of both ensuring health care efficiency and protecting personal data, an increasingly urgent issue in the digital age.
From this foundation, the male student developed into a scientific paper and was accepted at the ACIIDS 2026 international scientific conference held in Taiwan (China) in April 2026.
This is also the first time Hien has taken on the role of main author and speaker. "This is a very memorable milestone, helping me to mature more in research and be more confident when working in an academic environment," Hien shared.
Not building too rigid plans, Hien chooses to stick to the training program, proactively register to study subjects that can be completed early, and balance the study volume to avoid overload.
The biggest challenge for Hien is that in the semester, he is studying difficult specialized subjects, implementing projects and starting to intern. Having to do projects alone along with the pressure to find internship opportunities has caused the male student to fall into difficulties many times.
I was rejected many times when applying, but then I also found a full-time internship opportunity. Thanks to the support from lecturers, family and seniors, I have overcome this stage," Hien said.
In the next 2-3 years, Hien plans to develop in the direction of combining research and application of computer science. The male student wishes to participate in research groups, and at the same time try his hand at teaching assistants to consolidate his knowledge.
In addition, Hien also sets a goal to work in a business environment with technology application in practice such as education, healthcare, business, before continuing to study further.
According to Hien, the most important skill to continue practicing is system thinking and problem-solving ability - the foundation for adapting to both academic and practical environments.
In addition to studying, Hien also actively participates in community activities, and proactively learns more office informatics skills, participates in soft skills courses on communication, creative thinking, interviews, as well as digital talent development programs and activities related to sustainable development.
These experiences help me broaden my perspective, practice skills and prepare better for my future work," Hien shared.
At the graduation ceremony in April 2026, Hanoi University of Science and Technology awarded degrees to hundreds of new engineers, masters, and doctors.
