On April 23, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that it had approved the investment policy for the Truong Sa Museum project in Cam Lam commune. The project is expected to start construction on April 29.
The project is built on an area of about 17,100m2 (equivalent to 1.71ha), with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND, sponsored by Vinhomes Joint Stock Company.
According to Huni Architectes' design plan, the project is inspired by "flows of enthusiasm" rising from the ground, showing the resilient spirit of the Vietnamese nation.
The overall architecture includes three space branches facing Gac Ma Island, Truong Sa Lon Island and the East Sea, creating three symbolic axes associated with sea and island sovereignty.
The highlight of the project is the fiberglass reinforced concrete layer with stylized red coral patterns, creating a unique visual effect. The interior space is organized openly, with intersections gradually increasing in height, combined with flexible display arrangements to guide viewers' emotions.
The exhibition content is divided by topics, applying modern projection technology and lighting effects to enhance the experience.
To date, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum has initially collected 1,154 images, documents and artifacts, including many documentaries and artifacts related to Truong Sa.
According to the leader of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the investment in building the Truong Sa Museum aims to serve propaganda and patriotic tradition education, raise awareness of protecting sea and island sovereignty; and at the same time meet the needs of researching, displaying and introducing historical values.
The project is built on the land adjacent to the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area. When completed, the museum will connect the space with the memorial area, creating a cultural and historical complex of special significance.
The Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area has been put into operation since 2017, built by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on an area of over 20,000m2, with a total investment of nearly 130 billion VND from contributions from officials, workers, civil servants and people nationwide through the Golden Heart Fund of Labor.
