With only about 1.5 months left, the 2026 high school graduation exam will take place. Instead of completely resting during the long holiday, many 12th grade students actively maintain their learning rhythm, take advantage of reviewing and shaping career choices for the upcoming journey.
Nguyen Quoc Cuong (12th grade, Tre Viet Primary - Secondary - High School, Ho Chi Minh City) said that he is mainly focusing on reviewing lessons and practicing questions to improve his score.
There is only a short time left, so I prioritize studying. During the holidays, I spend one day resting, and the remaining days focusing on reviewing," Cuong shared.
According to Cuong, the selection of majors is also carefully considered based on many factors such as job opportunities, income after graduation, suitability for themselves and family conditions. Male students are oriented towards block B00, towards health majors.
To maintain a stable learning rhythm, Cuong spends about 2 hours of self-study each night, usually ending around 10 pm - 11 pm. Besides, he still maintains playing sports such as badminton to reduce stress.

Similarly, Nguyen Ngoc Trung (12th grade, Long Hai - Phuoc Tinh High School, Ho Chi Minh City) also did not spend all his holiday time playing but focused on reviewing and learning about the major.
Trung said he is interested in the Architecture major and is actively learning about job opportunities after graduation. "I will both review for the graduation exam, systemize knowledge and learn more about the major to have a clear direction," Trung said.
According to the male student, the job factor is still an important criterion when choosing a major. At the same time, he also learned about the development of technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), to have appropriate preparation for the future.
According to records, during the long holiday, many 12th grade students do not have full holidays but maintain a regular study schedule, combining review and career research. The pressure of the exam approaching forces them to proactively allocate time reasonably, both consolidating knowledge and preparing for university selection ahead.
Request to increase support for students preparing for high school graduation exams
To prepare well for the 2026 high school graduation exam, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requests high schools and multi-level general schools with high school levels to synchronously implement solutions to support 12th grade students in the high school graduation exam preparation phase.
Accordingly, professional groups and teachers teaching exam subjects must complete the 12th grade program according to the 2025-2026 school year plan, and at the same time coordinate with parents to guide students to arrange reasonable review time, ensure appropriate nutrition, rest and exercise regimes.
The school organizes for students to get acquainted with the structure, format of exam questions and how to organize the high school graduation exam according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The review work is required to be carried out in accordance with regulations, with specific plans and contents; strengthen guidance on self-study methods, group review for students who are still limited, and at the same time promote the application of information technology and effectively exploit the learning management system (LMS).
In addition, schools need to create conditions for facilities such as classrooms, review rooms, libraries, and assign teachers to support students, especially in the period from the end of the school year to before the high school graduation exam.
The 2026 high school graduation exam is expected to take place in 2 days, December 11-12. 6. In Ho Chi Minh City, about more than 130,000 candidates will participate in this exam.
