According to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, the new unit was established on the basis of developing majors in the health sector that the school is training, including Pharmacy, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology.
The school said that the School of Medicine and Health Sciences will continue to expand training in a specialized direction in the field of health, including Medicine. Traditional Medicine and Odonto-Stomatology are oriented to develop in the coming time according to the roadmap and current regulations.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep was appointed Principal of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
In 2026, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences enrolls students in the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Medical Testing Technology using many methods such as considering high school graduation exam scores, high school transcripts, assessing competency assessment exam scores of VNU-HCM, V-SAT scores, and at the same time implementing direct admission, priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and admission according to international certificates such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, IB according to the regulations of HUTECH.
For Medicine and Pharmacy majors, candidates must meet the conditions according to current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates need to have 12th grade academic performance achieving Good or Excellent or higher, or high school graduation consideration score from 8.0 or higher.
According to information from HUTECH, candidates admitted to the Medicine major and majors in the health science block in 2026 can register for scholarships worth 30% of the full course tuition if they meet the conditions prescribed by the school.
Previously, HUTECH had trained majors in the health sector including Pharmacy, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology.
