On the afternoon of July 15, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced the scores for the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Candidates can follow the scores of the subjects HERE.
From the scores of 12 high school graduation exam subjects, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, former Chairman of the Council of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, commented that the average score of all subjects has decreased compared to last year, except for Physics.
Of which, Math decreased the most, from 6.45 to 4.78. From a deviation, the point must be moved to a deviation.
Next was Chemistry, the average score dropped by 0.62, to 6.01. Physics alone increased from 6.67 last year to 6.99. Considering the right side of the general score of subjects, the excellent score ratio (from 8 to or higher) decreased sharply, especially Math and English. In previous years, the excellent score ratio was up to 20-30%.

Mr. Duc predicted that this year's university admission benchmark will be lower than last year for many reasons, including the better differentiation of the exam and a decrease in the average score. The excellent score score is lower than in previous years. Therefore, the admission standard score is lower than last year.
At first, we thought it should be 2-6 points lower because candidates and teachers all considered the Math and English exam difficult. But when the Ministry announced the scores, we were surprised because the scores did not have too much discrimination. The benchmark score will be about 2-3 points lower depending on the field" - Mr. Duc said.
The average score for Literature and Geography is still relatively high, so the difference in standard scores is not too much compared to last year like the C00 combination. As for the combination of Math and English, Mr. Duc predicted that the benchmark score would decrease significantly.
Mr. Vu Khac Ngoc - an education expert at the HOCMAI Education System - commented that for the subjects, if based on the standard deviation and the number of 10 points, it can be seen that subjects such as Math, English, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography all have a good to good differentiation level.
Regarding natural science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, according to Mr. Vu Khac Ngoc, the average score of about 6 to 7 shows that the exam has differentiated higher. In particular, this year's Physics seems a little easier than Chemistry and Biology.
"Based on this year's scores, the benchmark scores for B00 majors can decrease by 1 to 2 points. For top medical schools, the reduction can be about 1 point" - Mr. Ngoc said.
Previously, universities also predicted that the admission score equal to the high school graduation exam score this year would decrease.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung - Director of the Academy of Finance said that the academy will have a wide standard score range that can be from 22 - 28 points, not as concentrated as in 2024 (from 26.03 - 26.85 on the 30th scale and 34.35 - 36.15 on the 40th scale).
"The benchmark scores of some training majors of the Academy of Finance may decrease compared to last year by 3-4 points. Sharing wide scores will be an opportunity for candidates to confidently register for the right major to improve their ability to pass the academy entrance exam.
In addition, to accompany candidates, the 2025 Admissions Council of the Academy of Finance plans to reduce the entrance threshold by about 1 point" - Mr. Tung said.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade also predicts that the benchmark scores in 2025 will decrease for the subjects with Math and English.
Similarly, the full-time university admission council of Thang Long University said that it will consider lowering the benchmark score to create conditions for candidates to study at the desired school.
