According to local people, before the incident, the sky turned gray-black, and a large tornado appeared in the air. When the tornado moved through the residential area, many corrugated iron roofs and canopies of households were swept away.
Some residents said that many items in the house and outside the yard were also swept up in the air by strong winds. The incident happened in a short time but caused damage to many households in the area.
Initial records in Hong Son commune show that many houses were affected. The roofs of some houses were collapsed, and many corrugated iron sheets were blown away by the wind. Some households had their roofs blown off, causing property damage.

Immediately after the incident occurred, local authorities organized a scene inspection, reviewed the affected areas and supported people to overcome the consequences.
