Pacific University (Khanh Hoa) is one of the local educational institutions that has just called for not to accept flowers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
Mr. Ho Thanh Phong - Principal of the school - said that the most precious gift for the teaching staff is the maturity of students and the sustainable development of society.
"This year, in the context of storms that have just caused great impacts to people in many localities, the school hopes that partners and colleagues will not give flowers but convert them into a source of contribution to support people affected by storms and floods," Mr. Phong shared.
According to the school's leadership, this is the most practical and meaningful form of gratitude at the present time.
The school encourages businesses, partners and alumni to contribute to support funds or authorities where emergency relief is needed.
This policy has received the consensus and active response from parents, partners and the community.
The spirit of "respecting teachers and valuing education" is not only preserved but also deepened by the value of sharing, humanity and responsibility to the community through the above incident.
This year's Vietnamese Teachers' Day is therefore even more meaningful when associated with the action towards the Central region that is overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.
Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training has just sent a document to departments, branches, sectors, and unions of the province, People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones about not organizing receptions for guests, not accepting flowers to congratulate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025). This is to implement thrift and fight waste, while sharing some difficulties with people in provinces that have just suffered heavy damage due to natural disasters and floods.
