Information is circulating on social networks about a plan to honor parents at Yen My High School (Hung Yen), with the categories "Diamond - Gold - Silver - Bronze" based on the amount of donations in the 2025 - 2026 school year.
According to the plan, parents of students who contribute 20 million VND or more will be ranked in the Diamond ranking, enjoy the same rights as being honored at the opening and closing ceremony, their names are listed in the school's "grateful golden board", and receive certificates of merit and commemorative medals, and participate in special events organized by the school.
The remaining levels include: contributions from 11-19 million VND to be honored with the Gold level, receiving certificates of merit and thank you letters, being named at the summary ceremony; the Silver level is 6-10 million VND and the Bronze level is 3-5 million VND, accompanied by corresponding recognition benefits.
This plan immediately attracted many mixed opinions. Some supporters believe that this is a way for the school to encourage parents' companionship, help increase resources for learning activities, equipment, extracurricular activities, scholarship funds and renovation of classrooms and schoolyards.

However, many people expressed concern about "reputation based on contributions", saying that this approach could create financial pressure and a sense of discrimination for families who are not able to support much.
Talking to Lao Dong newspaper, Ms. Luu Phuong Anh - Vice Principal of Yen My High School - affirmed that the information spread on social networks may have been edited, not reflecting the truth. She said that the school is actively coordinating with authorities to verify the source, in order to have an official and transparent announcement and avoid causing misunderstandings to parents, students and the public.
According to Ms. Luu Phuong Anh, this year the school celebrates its 60th anniversary, on this occasion, the school issued an open letter calling for support for public funding.
"We want all contributions to be transparent, public, and absolutely not have any honorary rankings" - Ms. Phuong Anh emphasized.
Currently, the school continues to review and verify information on social networks, and it is expected that there will be an official notice sent to all teachers and parents. Ms. Luu Phuong Anh affirmed that all information related to calling for financial support will be public, transparent and completely regardless of the level or contributor.
