With only a few days left until the 2025 - 2026 school year, many schools in remote areas and ethnic minority areas in Can Tho City have urgently completed preparations and are ready to welcome students to class.

Recorded at Tai Van Secondary School (Thai Van Commune, Can Tho City), the school has been renovated, repaired, and painted new, spacious. The school has 16 classrooms, with 4 functional rooms; facilities, tables, chairs, libraries, and teaching equipment are fully equipped.
Mr. Luu Quoc Thong - Principal of Tai Van Secondary School - said: This school year, the school has about 810 students, of which 90% are ethnic minority students. The school has 32 teachers, although there is still a shortage of 5-6 people, the school has proactively contracted 3 more teachers to ensure teaching. On August 18, the school focused on students to implement the program, on August 22, the 9 schools were dismissed, and the groups were on August 29.
"Since 2020, the school has organized 2 sessions/day with music, fine arts, physical education, and English in the afternoon. This year, thanks to renovation and investment, the arrangement of study time is more flexible: in the morning it starts from 7:00 to 10:20 (1 hour earlier than before), in the afternoon it starts from 14:00 (1 hour later than before)," said Mr. Thong.

Mr. Thach Quoc Thai, Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of Tai Van Commune (Can Tho City), informed: After merging from the old Tai Van Commune and Vien An Commune (Tran De District, the old Soc Trang Province), the locality currently has 8 schools (2 secondary schools, 4 primary schools and 2 kindergartens) with a total of 280 teachers.
To ensure teaching and learning in the new school year, the locality has conducted a survey of facilities and grasped the situation of students and teachers. Up to now, schools have basically met the requirements of teaching 2 sessions/day according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Similarly, in Tan Thanh commune (Can Tho city), a locality with a large ethnic minority, the school system is also invested in spaciously, meeting the requirements of teaching and learning.
Mr. Diep Thanh Hai - Principal of Tan Hung C Primary School - said: In the 2025 - 2026 school year, the school has 460 students, of which over 85% are Khmer children. With 25 classrooms and subject rooms, facilities ensure students attend 2 sessions/day according to the 2018 General Education program. On July 21, the school organized a Vietnamese language class for first graders before entering the official program.
The school also focuses on applying digital technology. Each classroom is equipped with a TV, a computer room, and a multi-purpose classroom. Many teachers apply AI to design lectures, games, and videos to help students be more interested and absorb more effectively.
Ms. Bach Thi Ngan - a teacher at Tan Hung C Primary School - shared: "During the teaching process, I have actively applied AI technology to complete lectures, learning games, and designed videos to attract students. Through such applications, I find the effectiveness very high; students are interested, active and proactive in receiving lessons".
Meanwhile, Tan Thanh Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has also completed repairs and renovations of facilities, ready to welcome students. The school currently has 8 classrooms and functional rooms such as a library, psychological consultation, communication of the Youth Union - Team, technology, foreign languages, computers... The boarding area, playground, and classroom landscape are regularly cared for and maintained.
Mr. Lieng Hien Su, Principal of the school, said: "During the summer vacation, the school organizes monthly campus cleaning. Since the beginning of August, classes, professional rooms and boarding rooms have been prepared for the new school year".
To synchronously deploy the project throughout the city, the People's Committee of Can Tho City has issued Official Letter No. 1154/VPUB-KGVX, following the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training on organizing 2 teaching sessions/day in the 2025 - 2026 school year.
