The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a plan for early admission for the 2025-2026 school year.
The registration for first-level admission will be carried out according to the general method. The Departments of Education and Training (DET) advise the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts to build flexible admission areas based on three factors: local school allocation, number of children of admission age and information on students' "current residence" from the industry's database.
At the same time, combine the use of the city's common digital map system to calculate the travel distance of students, not allocating students according to ward administrative boundaries, to create conditions for students to study near their current residence and in accordance with the local actual situation.
For schools located on the border between localities, the first-level admission Steering Committee needs to develop a suitable admission plan, creating favorable conditions for students to study near their current residence.
Admission registration will be conducted online at https://tuyensinhda.hcm.edu.vn, through the student's identification code and in compliance with the instructions of the Department of Education and Training.
Admissions are divided into 2 types, including:
Subject 1: priority admission for the following cases:
- For grade 1: students with a "current residence" in the area and within the prescribed age.
- For grade 6: students with a "current place of residence" in the area, have completed the primary school program and are of the prescribed age.
Subject 2: students who wish to study in an area not actually in their residential area. The Thu Duc City Board of Directors for Admissions and districts need to issue documents clearly identifying the priority subjects for admission, creating a legal basis for classification. In particular, it is possible to consider prioritizing admission in order of the specific cases of each area such as:
- Students who have completed preschool or primary school programs in the area.
- Students whose father or mother works in the area (industrial parks, agencies, organizations located in the area).
- Students with "current residence" according to VNeID in the border areas between districts, towns and Thu Duc city.
- Students moving to the province.
- Students in specific local cases.
For grade 6 admissions, admission is in the form of admission, in which admission criteria are developed as follows:
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and some local secondary schools can conduct admission based on a combination of two criteria including training and learning results for primary school years and the results of competency assessment surveys.
In particular, local secondary schools must simultaneously meet two requirements: The number of candidates registered exceeding the enrollment quota in recent years and proposed by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, District and Region to the Department of Education and Training.
The remaining secondary schools conduct admission based on training and learning results at the primary level and use data from digital maps to serve the work of allocating students, in which the enrollment area of the schools is decided by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, district and county based on the actual situation in the locality.
Depending on the actual situation of school facilities, teaching staff and residents of each locality, based on the advice of the Department of Education and Training, the first-level admission steering committee will determine the 6th grade admission quota for schools.
