According to Lao Dong statistics, more than 20 public high schools have announced expected enrollment targets for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year. Among these, many schools are expected to increase from 45-200 targets.
Marie Curie High School is expected to enroll 1,200 students, an increase of 200 students. Suong Nguyet Anh Secondary and High School enrolls 450 students, an increase of 180 students. Ly Thuong Kiet, Linh Trung, Ta Quang Buu, Thu Thiem high schools are also expected to increase by 135 students.
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School is expected to enroll 420 targets, an increase of 135 students. Tran Phu High School is expected to enroll 900 students, an increase of 90; Nguyen Huu Huan High School is expected to enroll 700 students, an increase of 45. This is a group of schools with benchmark scores in the top 10 in 2025.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School is expected to enroll 675 students (reducing 105 quotas).
Some high schools such as Phuoc Long, Le Thanh Ton, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Hoang Hoa Tham, Binh Hung Hoa, Tan Tuc are expected to keep their enrollment quotas unchanged.

The entrance exam to 10th grade in 2026 is expected to be held on two days, June 1st and 2nd.
Candidates registering for public 10th grade will take three compulsory subjects including: Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language (mainly English). Students registering for specialized or integrated classes will take additional specialized or integrated subjects corresponding to their registered aspirations.
Enrollment is carried out in 2 phases: Phase 1, students register 3 aspirations (priority 1, 2, 3) for public high schools, excluding specialized schools such as Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City).
Phase 2 is supplementary enrollment, which is considered for organization depending on the actual situation. The subjects are students who have taken the exam but were not admitted to all 3 previous aspirations.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), the city currently has more than 169,000 9th grade students, an increase of more than 42,700 students compared to the previous year. If calculated according to the standard of 45 students/class, public high schools in the area only meet more than 103,700 places, equivalent to 61% of 9th grade students.
Faced with increasing pressure on the scale of students, the Department set a target of enrolling nearly 118,400 public 10th grade students, equivalent to 70% of 9th grade students. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requested schools to review facilities and propose needs for procurement and repair to increase reception capacity according to the set target.
It is expected that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the official enrollment targets of each public high school for the 2026-2027 school year in the next few days; after that, students will proceed to register their aspirations.
