These days, the atmosphere of preparation for the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City becomes more urgent. Besides reviewing, many 9th grade students and parents actively learn about enrollment information, from targets, benchmark scores of previous years to the learning environment of each school.
In many secondary schools, it is not difficult to see images of students discussing and exchanging aspirations. On forums and social networking groups about education, information about 10th grade enrollment is also continuously shared, attracting great attention.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (parent in Thu Duc ward) said that her family has spent time carefully researching many schools to orient their children appropriately.
Not only looking at the benchmark scores, I am also interested in the learning environment and travel distance so that my child can study for a long time," Ms. Hong said.
Meanwhile, Tran Minh Anh (9th grade student) said she is quite stressed when having to choose aspirations. "I am considering choosing a school that suits my ability, avoiding registering for a school with too high admission scores, making it difficult to pass," Minh Anh said.
In addition to looking up information on the websites of schools and Departments of Education and Training, many parents also directly visit and learn about facilities and curricula to have a more realistic view.
According to teachers, carefully researching information and choosing aspirations suitable to their abilities is very important, helping students increase their chances of admission and reduce pressure in the later learning process.

The entrance exam to 10th grade in 2026 is expected to be held on two days, June 1st and 2nd.
Candidates registering for public 10th grade will take three compulsory subjects including: Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language (mainly English). Students registering for specialized or integrated classes will take additional specialized or integrated subjects corresponding to their registered aspirations.
Regarding the exam structure, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that it is basically stable compared to recent years. It is expected that in each exam subject, about 60% of questions are at the level of recognition and understanding and 40% at the level of application and high application.
2026 is forecast to be a large-scale 10th grade entrance exam when the whole city currently has about 170,000 9th grade students studying in secondary schools.
It is expected that about 70% of secondary school graduates will continue to study at public high schools.
In addition to the main form of competitive examination, in specialized areas, the admission method can be applied.
