The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City has announced the enrollment quota for grade 10 of 115 public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year.

Compared to 2024, the total enrollment target has decreased by about 7,000 students, the reason being that the number of grade 9 students this year is smaller. The total enrollment target of public high schools is more than 77,000 students.

Nguyen Thuong Hien High School and Nguyen Huu Tien High School increased by 95 and 90 targets respectively. The remaining schools increased from 5 to 80 targets.

In addition, this year, 3 schools are enrolling more than 1,000 students, including Mac Dinh Chi High School 1,060), Hung Vuong High School 1,035 and Marie Curie High School (1,000). Some other schools enrolling 900 students or more are Gia Dinh, Tay Thanh, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Trung Truc, Hoang Hoa Tham, Truong Chinh.

The four schools that recruited at least the Olympic Sports Talent School, Vietnam - Finland International School, Viet Uc International School, Thanh An Secondary and High School are all under 100 students.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the quota for grade 10 this year is calculated by the department to suit each area, in order to reduce pressure on students.

Accordingly, schools in suburban and suburban areas with a small number that need to control classes according to new rural standards will be assigned targets according to needs. As for schools in densely populated areas, the quota is assigned higher.
