On September 19, recording on the North-South expressway east section of Van Ninh - Cam Lo through Quang Tri province, some locations of the asphalt concrete road surface showed signs of rutting along wheel tracks, causing the road surface to no longer ensure smoothness when vehicles travel.
This situation is recorded on both the right and left sides of the route. Rutting points appear at many different routes, including locations with rutting depths up to nearly 3cm.
Previously, on August 15, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board together with Road Management Office II. 4, the supervision consulting unit and contractors organized a field inspection, determining the condition of the road surface being subsided with a depth of 0.4cm to 2.9cm.
According to the inspection record, at the sections Km694+350 - Km694+650, Km702+500 - Km702+900, Km705+200 - Km705+300 and Km708+370 - Km708+800 (right side of the route), the road surface showed signs of not being smooth, the depth of subsidence was from 0.4-1.9cm.
Some other locations such as Km698+805 - Km698+890, Km709+430 - Km709+800, Km711+300 - Km711+570 and Km728+600 - Km729+050 have a rutting depth of 2-2.9cm.
In addition, at locations Km697+810, Km698+932 and Km702+850, the phenomenon of rutting appears locally on an area of about 1m2, with a measured depth of 2.8cm. The 9A intersection area also recorded a similar situation, in which branch 1 at Km0+160 - Km0+169 and Km0+350 - Km0+456 has a rutting depth of 2-2.9cm.
The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the unit has received a document from Road Management Office II. 4 on overcoming the damaged road surface on the North-South expressway in the East section of Van Ninh - Cam Lo.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Thai Anh Giang - Commander of package XL2, Truong Thinh Group Joint Stock Company, said that the contractor is completing the necessary procedures to deploy repairs. According to Mr. Giang, the repair plan has been developed by the contractor. When approved by competent authorities and favorable weather, the unit will urgently organize construction, expected to be completed in about 3 days.
